At Pembroke Park they have a walking trail, athletic fields, playground and picnic shelter. Pembroke also has a public boat ramp.

Pearisburg

PearisburgThe Pearisburg Recreation Department offers a variety of sports and recreational activities for area residents. The program provides organized leagues and teams in a variety of sports. A town park is located next to the Community Center. This twenty acre facility features a picnic shelter, playground, three tennis courts, and a public swimming pool. The Giles Senior Center, operated by the County of Giles, is also located at the town park. Parking is available throughout the park and Community Center complex. Rental Fees.

WHITT-RIVERBEND PARK
The Town of Pearisburg's newest recreational area is Whitt-Riverbend Park. This are features 28 acres on New River. The park is being developed into a low-impact public recreation area. The park is currently open for those wanting to fish, bird watch, picnic, or take a leisurely walk on a 1.1 mile loop trail. This park also has athletic fields, a playground, picnic shelter. and public boat ramp.Walk-in and canoe-in camping is allowed by permit only.

Narrows - Read More

Narrows The Narrows Town Park, or "The Boom", is located on five acres situated on Wolf Creek and State Route 61. The park offers a swimming area with lifeguards, a volleyball court, two lit tennis courts, two basketball courts, a bath house with full bathroom facilities, and a variety of new playground
equipment. The also have picnic shelters and a horseshoe
pit . The park is officially operational from May 1st through September 30th.The Narrows Parks and Recreation Department is located on Mary Street in Narrows. This department offers a wide array of organized programs for children, youth, and adults on a year-round basis.

Mill Pond is a small, two acre site located adjacent to Wolf Creek and Route 61 (Monroe Street) at the old mill dam on the edge of downtown Narrows. This pond is home to a year-round flock of Canadian Geese and a number of domestic and wild ducks. The pond offers several benches where one can sit and enjoy the scenery, feed the geese, or do a little fishing.

Camp Success is located on State Route 68 (Princeton Lane) at the confluence of Wolf Creek and the New River. This primitive campground is eight acres of land that offers many camping sites, bank fishing, and a boat ramp. It boasts approximately 1/4 of a mile of frontage along the New River and 500 feet along Wolf Creek. Small Mouth Bass predominate as the major sports fish caught along the shore.

Glyn Lyn

Glyn Lyn Park has a view of the old bridge piers in the New River. They also offer camping, fishing , a boat ramp, go-cart track and a playground. It also has a paved walking trail.

Rich Creek

Woodland Park is owned and operated by the Town of Rich Creek. The park has been a valuable part of the community infrastructure for more than forty years. The park provides a place for recreation and community gatherings. The park has a pavilion complete with a kitchen and handicap accessible restrooms are available. The park features a playground. Tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts are used frequently by the citizens of Rich Creek and the surrounding community. A paved trail around the park provides a place for those that wish to walk and jog. The Rich Creek Community Center is a multipurpose facility. The Town Office, Police Department, Public Library and the Rich Creek Lions Club Den are located at the center. The facility features a gymnasium that doubles as a dinner and meeting hall. A kitchen is also available. The Rich Creek Activity Field is adjacent to the center. This is the site of various activities such as softball games, soccer games, tractor pulls, and a firemen’s rodeo. Newport

The Newport Recreation Center, built as the public high school in 1933, serves a community of nearly 900 households as a community center. Since the closing of the school, the Center continues to play a key role in the lives of the people of Newport. It is employed in every aspect of community life as a site for community meetings; dinners, concerts and gatherings; classes, family reunions, youth activities, art studios, the Newport Agricultural Fair, Newport Volunteer Rescue Squad, and a Kids Korner provides social and creative activities along with networking for parents and their youngsters. They also have athletic fields.
